Adding a new Alpari Megadroid Account trading 1 hour latter
The new version of Forex Megadroid (version 1.30), starts trading 1 hour earlier than the previous version (version 1.21). The previous version only opened trades after 5PM EST, whereas this new version opens trades after 4PM EST. I have noticed that these earlier trades have struggled. That hour is just after the close of the US stock market, and can be very volatile.
I’ve decided to add another Alpari account to my Daily Results. It’ll be called “Alpari UK (LATE)”.
Like the other accounts, it’ll use the default settings, but this time with the following differences.
AutoLocalGmtOffset = false
AutoServerGmtOffset = false
GmtOffset = 2
This will mean that this account will only place trades after 5PM EST, like the previous Forex Megadroid version. It’ll be interesting to see how these settings perform compared to the current version 1.30 default settings. I’ll start posting these additional results tomorrow. All the other accounts will continue with the default settings.
Wouldn’t a GMT Offset of 2 simply be the default (automatic) setting?
Hi Massimo,
Yes, I thought that as well.
I assumed I’d have to set the manual GMT offset to 3 on Alpari to make it start trading 1 hour later than the auto setting.
But, for some reason manual GMT offset = 2, trades one hour latter on Megadroid 1.30. I discovered this when I ran a backtest. I confirmed this on live testing today.
You can run v1.21 as well, it is still working.
That’s interesting. Initially they said they were going to deactivate it.
