  1. I was a bit lucky with the 2nd Alpari trade today. It was down over 40 pips at one point, and managed to close around break-even after a few hours.

Only Alpari and FxPro got the first 15 pip trade, the other accounts had various error messages in their log files e.g. Trade Context Busy, No Connection etc. Some accounts missed the trade because of the spread being too wide at the time.

  2. Hi Richard,

Still using the demo but awaiting finalization of live mt4 account, seems I had to resend proof of residence.

Anyway, I’m not sure if something glitched but I had a trade open at 21:14 @ 1.39789 which looks pretty much inline with what you have posted but the stop loss it put in was for 1.38290, that’s 150 pip stop loss!

Did you have that on your live accounts as well?

I didn’t see the order get placed live but it was done on a down candle and just kept dropping, didn’t take long for it to drawdown around fifty pips, it rebounded and closed out with a -0.6 pip loss (could have been a winner if it held a bit more)

The second trade closed out with +15.8 pips but the SL on that one was at 155 pips.

when i first started testing the stops were at about 59pips and it’s only now I see they have increased. I’m using the default settings and with a risk of 0.1 (10%) there is no way the stops should be more than 100 pips on a thousand dollar account.

I was having internet issues at the time the trades were going on, lost connection several times so not sure if that had something to do with it but were your stops set to around the same?

  3. Hi Elvis,

Megadroid often sets the stop loss on the open order to around 150 to 200 pips, but that’s just a safety measure. It always closes the trade before it reaches that point. Losing trades are usually closed around the 50-60 pips mark. In rare cases it can be as high as 100 pips.

  4. Hi again Richard,

    1. Why dont you use Recovery Mode=true?
    2. In you experience, how many times you lost 2 or 3 times in a row?

    Thank you.

  5. Hi andrei,

Why I don’t use Recovery Mode?

When “Recovery Mode” is enabled, the lot size is automatically increased after a few consecutive losses.

I think this approach is flawed because each trade Megadroid places has the same probability of winning regardless of how many consecutive losses there have been.

So increasing the lots size in that scenario is just increasing the risk unnecessarily.

How many times has it lost 2-3 times in a row?

I’ve only seen 2-3 consecutive large losses on a few occasions over 18 months, but there have been numerous instances of small losses (-0.5 to -1.0 pip) that may have triggered Recovery Mode.
