Megadroid Results: Tues 10th May 2011 — 10 Comments

  1. Hi Andrea,

The best way to compare the results, is to just add up the pips and trade counts in the History for each of the 3 months. From a brief glance, they look to be as good as my better trading accounts over that period, however the cost of commission isn’t included. I assume the commission cost is about 0.6 to 1 pip per trade. You probably need more data to compare though – say 5-6 months. That way you can see how the broker performs during Megadroid loss months.

I personally don’t trade at FinFx because they’re not regulated.

  2. Hi Richard,
thanks for your answer. Even considering commissions, there is a big difference: for example in April he had 7 trades, and you only 3. He made more than 200 pips of profit in less than 3 months. Do you think these results can be real? Can it depend on the VPS used? Which VPS service di you use?

  3. I am almost certain that that is not a real account. There has been discussion about that same account on babypips forum being a demo, although he denies that it is.

However, I run a demo FinFX account and whenever I get a trade, he gets a trade. I also run a real FinFX account along with the demo FinFX on the same computer and the results are very different. The demo probably trades 2-3 times more than the real account.

  4. Hi Andrea,

    April results?

Most of the brokers I use actually had 5 to 7 trades in April, not 3 trades.

    Valid results?

I can’t tell you if those FinFx results are valid or not, because I don’t trade at that broker. I only hold accounts at regulated brokers because of funds safety reasons.

It might be wise to look around on the Internet for some other live results at that broker, just to make sure. As Dinh pointed out they may well be demo accounts results rather than live results. A demo account will always give much better results.

    VPS?

I personally don’t use a VPS at present. I have in the past, but didn’t notice any improvement in my Megadroid trade results compared to accounts I traded from my home computer. In theory using a VPS located close to the brokers server should improve performance because of reduced latency.

  5. Dinh,

I’m thinking about running MD on my FinFX account. Would you be so kind and let us know if it is profitable or not. Trading 2-3 times less means it trades 2-3 times a month.

    Thanks
