Megadroid Results: Thur 15th Dec 2011 — 12 Comments

  1. Hi Ross,

    It does happen. If you look through my trade results during my losing months (June, July, August), you’ll see several trades that were opened for several hours. Sometimes the trades close at break even, at other times Megadroid closes the trades after 12 hours for a loss. And occasionally we get a full stop loss, which can vary from 54 pips to a 110 pip loss.

    We’ve had very few losses over the past 3 months, but it’s important to remember that large losses can happen on any day, and not to trade too aggressively.

  2. Phew…I’m very happy that I decided to stick with Megadroid yesterday and not to stop the trade manually.

    After 8 hours and 1 minute Megadroid earned 1.4pips 😉

    FinFx => +1.4 pips

  3. Hi Peter,

    I think it’s best to have a medium term outlook with this strategy. i.e 6 to 12 months. There’s going to be large losses – that’s inevitable. And when they happen, it may take a month or more to recover. That’s just the nature of this strategy. But over time this strategy has done well.

    The key is being consistent, and not trading too aggressively so that the loses can be endured.

  4. Hi Richard,

    I think it’s correct what said. But I just started with Live trading MD so it wouldn’t be nice if I need to recover right away! So I hope… I we don’t have a large lose this and the coming month… after that time I can hold a large lose without going down in my starting balance… then it’s still profitable 😉 But ofcourse there going to be large losses in the future!!

    And yes…don’t trade too aggressively. But oke…also losing €50 isn’t nice 😉 But that’s trading… we need to deal with that 🙁

  5. Hi Mark,

    I don’t trade Megadroid in the week between Christmas and New Year because the volume is very light and price action erratic.

    However I’ll create a post on this blog for that week, and watch what happens to trades during the week as a learning exercise. I might trade a very small lot on one of the accounts just as a test.
