No trades for me on Tues and Wed
Richard, kudos to you for staying the course with Megadroid. You have more than recovered the losses from October. I missed the big losses because I needed money from my forex accounts, but I didn’t get back in December when I should have and I missed three great months.
How, or have you, changed settings after the double losses in Oct? What are you seeing with the new v1.4 of Megadroid? I appreciate your insight.
John
Hi John,
I haven’t changed my settings, but version 1.40 trades a lot differently than V1.39. I’ve seen a significant improvement in performance since I started using Version 1.40 – I’m not sure if this is because of improvements to the strategy, or whether the price action was just more favourable. Probably a combination of both.
Version 1.40 seems to keep trades open for a shorter duration by having smaller profit targets, setting the target to break-even earlier, and sometimes adding a second trade to improve the average price. So the entry and exit strategy is a bit more sophisticated now.
We still haven’t had a large loss with the new version, so it’ll be interesting to see the size of that loss and how the EA manages it.
So far so good.
With this strategy, I think it’s important to have a 6-12 month outlook, because large losses usually occur every few months. The key is whether the EA can make enough profits in between those losses.
Thanks for your reply, Richard. I’m going to reopen my account with IBFX and begin trading Megadroid again soon. I’ll probably just go with very low risk until, as you say, 1.4 gets it’s first loss. I too am interested in how it will handle it.
