  2. Hi – I have 1.41 and haven’t used it in a long time. I unleashed it yesterday, but I have a couple questions I hope you can help with –

–I’m in USA, for FXCM accounts should my NFA parameter be set to true?

–May 7th – on FXCM I got the first two trades, but not the second two.
any reason you know of for this? My settings are identical to yours except I do have NFA set to true

  3. Hi Steve,

“–I’m in USA, for FXCM accounts should my NFA parameter be set to true?”
    Yes

“–May 7th – on FXCM I got the first two trades, but not the second two.
any reason you know of for this? My settings are identical to yours except I do have NFA set to true”

Not sure why. BTW my Oanda account only got 2 trades. Maybe look through the lot files and see if there’s any reason why any trades were rejected .e.g. a wide spread or connection problems.

  4. I also got only the first two trades, but the first one was a huge loss (-62.6pips) with FinFX – any idea why?

  5. Richard – the logs had the answer – three off-quote attempts. I get a lot of off-quotes on my FXCM account when I press the button too….

    –Steve

  6. Hi Albe,

That’s strange. Can you post your trade open and close times and prices.

The only possible explanation I can think of are that your entry prices were slipped a lot or your platform may have lost connection around the time Megadroid would have closed the trade.

Maybe look in your log file to see if there were any platform disconnects at the time my trades were closed.

If you look at my MB Trading trade times, those are EST times so you can use them as a reference.

  7. To Richard or anyone here,

Is there a way to have/download the “MegadroidPips.ex4” indicator, please? I just want to keep track of MegaDroid trades.

By the way, my FXCM trades were different from those of Richard’s and Steve’s.

    Thanks a lot in advance!

    Michael

  8. Richard thanks for the reply,
I actually notice that my buy order was executed at a (slightly?) higher price than the others I see on your accounts. Also, the loosing trade was kept open for an unusually long time (from 21.36 to 06.02).

    2015.05.07 21:36:49 buy eurusd 1.12572 -> 2015.05.08 06:02:45 1.11946

Looking at ‘Journal’ and ‘Expert’ log pages I can’t see any message for a period of at least 3 hours after trade opening.

Notice that the borker I’m using was suggested to me by the Megadroid team just a few months ago as one the best performing with their robot. Do you have experience with FinFX?

    Thanks again
    Alberto

  9. Hi Albe,

Looks like you got slipped a fair bit on that order i.e about 2-4 pips worse than my accounts. That might be an explanation, because slippage means the price needs to move further to hit a take-profit or break-even point.

Slippage can really impact results because just a few pips of slippage can mean the difference between a break-even or a large loss.

“Do you have experience with FinFX?”

No. They’re not regulated so I don’t use them.

  10. thank you Richard,
MD has a slippage limit which I set to 3 (as default), shouldn’t it help?
Other question I have for you: how do you remotely manage your trades? Do you use MT4? And do you have a VPS connestion? If so what provider you use for VPS?
    Thanks again
    Albe

  11. “MD has a slippage limit which I set to 3 (as default), shouldn’t it help?”

The slippage control only works for “Instant Execution” brokers. About 98% of brokers have moved to “Market Execution” which doesn’t have any form of slippage control,

The switch to Market Execution was heavily promoted by brokers as a benefit to traders, but IMO the reverse is true because traders can no longer control their entry price.

“And do you have a VPS connection?”

No, I just use a spare home computer for Megadroid. It works fine.

I do use a VPS for other types of trading. I currently use CNS VPS. https://www.commercialnetworkservices.com/VPS/
