Megadroid Results: Tues 6th June 2017 — 7 Comments

  1. Missed the trade on my Go Markets account because that terminal wasn’t running at the time.

Both FXCM accounts were running, but never got a trade signal.

  2. Hi,

I am new to trading with Megadroid. Could someone please guide me in how to select a good broker please. I have a demo ECM account on FXTM but I am not sure if this would work with Megadroid as I have not had any trades and have been running for a week also.

Any advise would be much appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Cheers

    • IMO the 2 important things to consider when choosing a broker are…

      1) How does the broker perform with Megadroid?

Based on my recent results, my FXCM (NDD) and AxiTrader Pro accounts are performing the best.

      2) How secure are your funds with the Broker?

      This will require some research.

Find out if the broker is regulated, and what sort of regulation they have. You might be able to find out if the broker has had any problems with regulators in the past – that’s usually a red flag.

Also check out their physical address – make sure it’s not being run out of someone’s apartment!

Try to find out a bit about the broker’s owners. Their names are usually recorded on the regulators documents. You can then do some research on the people involved, and find our if they’re reputable etc.

Nothing’s 100% secure, but if you do some thorough due diligence, you’ll reduce your chances of having a problem with a broker latter on.

  3. Thanks very much for the reply Richard.
Also what type parameters am I looking for in a good broker. i.e. Leverage / Time delay etc. is there any minimum values / parameters I should be looking out for.

    Thanks v much.

    • Leverage doesn’t effect trade performance.

Time Delay – I assume you mean ping time. In theory a lower ping time is better, but in practice I haven’t found any difference between a ping time of 10ms and 400ms in terms of Megadroid performance. Ping time is more relevant for other types of trading i.e. news spike trading.

For Megadroid, the best way to check performance, is by simple A-B testing i.e. 2 brokers both running Megadroid at the same time – and then compare the trade execution over time. That’s pretty much what I do in this blog.

  4. Hmm ok Thanks v much Richard.
I had FXTM running for the past week on a demo account but still have not got any trades at all. I have just opened a Demo AxiTrader account, hopefully I have better luck.

I wondering if there is something I am doing wrong, I guess the next few days should shed some light.

Thanks again. If there are any tips you can provide me in regards to MD settings it would be awesome.

    Thanks again

    • I thought you were referring to a live account.

Demo account performance won’t tell you much because trade execution on a live account is very different.
